iPhone finally OK on Traveler (D'Oh!)

A good thing when you stop hitting yourself with a hammer is that the pain will go away. Unlike the rest of the world we've been having a lot of trouble getting iPhones and iPods to connect to the Lotus Traveler server. And since the rest of the world automatically figured out how to configure this, no documentation of our non-existing problem exists, naturally.

Well, up to now. This is a tip for you out there, the one in a million, which despite the fact that this piece of software is nearly self configurable, still have problems with the iPhones and iPods.

Check the Internet Site documents. Your server name must to be listed in the field "Host names or addresses mapped to this site". Your Windows Mobile based phones and your Symbian (Nokia) thingies don't seem to need this, but the Apple devices surely do.

D'Oh!

Yes, yes, same problem with my company. WMobile and Nokia working without issues and we tested an iPhone a week ago and it didn't work. One week with this battle and today we changed "Internet site documents" (which was a "must have" with the first Traveler versions) to "normal" http web and it worked with the iPhone !!!

Yes! Annoying, isn't it? One little detail and BANG there goes the whole week.
